Dental Checkups & Cleanings
Dr. Erin Paluchowski recommends preventive routine evaluations every six months to maintain good oral health and prevent oral health issues like tooth loss. During these routine visits, a hygienist will perform a thorough cleaning using today's advanced dental tools. Then Dr. Paluchowski will complete a comprehensive exam and discuss the results with you. Should additional care be needed, we will discuss all your treatment options and answer any questions you may have.
Oral Cancer Screenings
Over 50,000 people are diagnosed with oral cancer each year, and while that is certainly a large number, it can be easily treated if caught early. That’s why we perform a thorough oral cancer screening as part of your routine exams. If we find anything concerning, we can organize a follow-up as needed so you’re able to get the necessary attention without delay.
Nightguards for Bruxism
Do you wake up with a sore jaw or headache? Do your teeth look worn down or flat? You might be clenching and grinding them while you sleep, which is called bruxism. It can wreak havoc on your enamel as well as any dental work you may have, but we can keep your smile protected and comfortable with a nightguard. It’s a custom oral appliance you only wear to bed that prevents your teeth from touching, ensuring they stay safe and whole.
Gum Disease Treatment
While cavities are certainly a big problem, the most common dental issue in the world is actually gum disease. A bacterial infection that breaks down the soft tissue supporting the teeth as well as the roots and nearby bone, gum disease can be treated with deep cleanings and laser periodontal therapy. Our laser enables us to remove hard-to-reach bacteria and plaque as well as infected tissue while leaving healthy gums untouched, leading to practically no soreness or swelling afterward.
